The superb period drama about the scandalous lives of the six Mitford sisters gets chillingly prescient as the growing fascist movement divides the family. Nancy attends an Oswald Mosley rally as research for her next book, Unity moves to Munich in the hope of meeting Hitler, and Jessica is inspired by her cousin, who has left school to join the communist cause. Chaos reigns. Of course it does – it’s the grand final of this purely delightful show. While Rosie Ramsey sports a wooden box like an oversized fascinator, Mathew Baynton menaces a puppy, Jason Mantzoukas and Stevie Martin start a local business and Fatiha El-Ghorri kicks a door in.
