Superfan's shock at Robbie Williams call, 30 years on

The moment Robbie Williams tried to call a superfan after she was featured in a Netflix documentary, shouting out her number on camera in 1992, has gone viral.

At the age of 14, Jemma Williamson travelled from Wirral to Chester to attend a Take That record signing event - but her dreams of meeting the star were thwarted as she was unable to get in.

Not being put off by the setback, she stayed at the venue and ended up being filmed, taking her chance to urge the singer to call her.

Thirty-four years later, the footage appeared as part of the Netflix documentary about the band and Williams himself posted on Instagram to show his fans the moment he tried to call the number she shouted out.

As a youngster in the clip, she can be heard shouting: "I love Robbie Williams, he's got gorgeous thighs and a gorgeous body and he can have my phone number any day!"

When asked what it was, she gleefully gave it and added: "Call me any time!"

While watching the documentary, Williams was filmed by his wife typing in the number but was met with a "this number is not recognised" automated message.

More than 102,000 people have liked the post on Instagram.

Now a nursery teacher from Wolverhampton, Williamson said she was overwhelmed by the positive response her appearance and the star's video has had.

She said "I think it's brought back a bit of nostalgia for everybody."

Since appearing in the documentary, she has been featured on BBC Radio 2 and flooded with messages from well-wishers on social media.

She added: "If I got to meet him that would just be unreal, I'd be speechless!

"It would just be crazy because he's on tour at the moment and he is playing in Wolverhampton, which is where I live, so on Monday he is literally 10 minutes away from my house.

"I couldn't get a ticket because I was busy teaching and, by the time I finished work, all the tickets were sold out."

More than three decades on, she admitted her love for the pop star remained just as strong.

"He was just a cheeky chappy, he was the fun one," she said.

"All the Take That are amazing, I've been to see the band numerous times, I've been to see Robbie numerous times but never got to see them when I was 14 .

"I've always gone to see Robbie in most of the gigs that he's done."
